Two Finishing Well Examples from Abraham’s Life:
Genesis 23:1-16

Abraham showed his deep love for his princess, Sarah, by securing a burial place for her before he even knew the price. She had been priceless to him so he honored her and provided for her even in death.

Off-Roading Observation:
1) To finish well in life you leave nothing undone that needs to be done. You do all you can do to care for and honor those who loved you.

Finishing Well Tip #1: Don’t wait until the people you love die to show them how much you love them. Love them generously now, holding nothing back, freely giving them what they need to feel loved by God and you.

Galatians 5:6b –
“The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.”

Abraham loved his son Isaac by sending his servant in search for a wife who would help him stay faithful to his God! He knew from his own marriage how critical it is to be of one heart and mind with your spouse if you want to follow your God together in faith.
Genesis 24:1-27

Off-Roading Observation:
2) Finishing well also includes doing all you can to help others follow the God who loved and blessed you. That’s how you leave a lasting, living legacy.

2 Corinthians 6:14-15

Abraham’s desire for Isaac was so pleasing to God that He miraculously orchestrated everyone’s involvement and response. Both Isaac and Rebekah received God’s best in one another, and together they continued the blessing God promised to Abraham’s offspring.

Genesis 24:50-67

Finishing Well Tip #2: Doing all you can to help others make great life choices that are in agreement with God’s Word is how you set them up for a life of continued blessing after you are gone. Now is the time to help others learn how to make the tough decisions they will face in their future. Proverbs 3:1-6

You finish well by leaving nothing undone that needs to be done. What do you need to do now so you can finish well whenever your life is done?
