Off-Road Observations:
1. Off-roading with God is an adventure but not always easy; there will be ups and downs, but His reassuring presence and promising voice are enough to get you through the down times.
1 Peter 5:6-7 – “Humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
2. Off-roading with God gives you many opportunities to believe He is good even in the downs of disappointment. Each time you go through a down time with God, trusting He is good, your faith becomes stronger.
Romans 4:18-22
Key Scripture: Genesis 16:1-6
3. Off-roading with God goes best when we stick to His roadmap and timetable. When we try to take shortcuts or listen to the wrong voices giving directions, we get stuck in ruts that can be painful and difficult to get out of.
Key Scripture: Genesis 16: 7-16
4. God does not forsake us when we are stuck in the deep ruts of other people’s bad choices or harsh life circumstances. He sees us, cares deeply for us and helps us do the right thing that can get our life “back on track”. While He cares compassionately, He always guides us with His Word.
There are ups and downs in the faith journey of off-roading with God. What you do in the down times, how you hang on to God and his Word, how you endeavor to do things His way and how you hope in Him builds your faith and makes way for God’s best for your life. Hebrews 12:2-3
