When you ask how NCCTK cares for and about you, our answer is found in the small group. Being in a small group puts you in close contact with other Christians who can minister to you as you face real life in the real world. Without being a part of a small group, it is very likely that some need in your life could be over looked or not be known. However, everyone has special times/situations, which may go beyond the ability of the small group to fully provide for. When a special need is identified, the Care Pastor connects the right person from NCCTK care teams to the person or family in need. Listed here are the areas that the CARE Ministry of NCCTK can provide as a support system beyond or assisting the small groups:
1. Crisis Assistance – Provides counseling/coaching for those families in a crisis situation, may assist in providing/locating professional Christian counseling, maintains the long-term contact needed for working through a crisis or can provide assistance to small group leaders for helping a family through a crisis.
2. Special Services – Through several teams of loving volunteers, we seek to provide rides, run an errand, visit a shut-in, repair something, clean a room, food preparation, assist with child care, assist with elderly caregiver needs, short-term financial aid, assistance following surgery or assistance with funeral needs.
The Care Ministry wants to provide a system for NCCTK members to demonstrate genuine Christian care when others in our church family are facing life challenges or crisis situations.
Our church is a place where the hurting, helpless, and hopeless can find help. It doesn’t matter who you’ve been or what you’ve been through, Jesus loves you and so do we, there is always a place for you.
“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.” —1 Peter 5:2–4
