Worship Ministry
"Hey, this is Joel Van Mersbergen, director of Creative Arts here at North County Christ the King. I started playing the guitar when my youth pastor sold me my first Fender Stratocaster with an agreement that I would play on the worship team. I have played on a worship team almost every weekend since that day. God developed a heart of worship in me after high school when I ran the worship ministry for the youth group I volunteered at at Word of Life Church. It was there that I was able to explore and learn about what it meant for me to express my praise and thanks to God through times of worship. Today that is still my heart. I desire to see people encounter God in a real and powerful way through worship music. I believe that as we take our eyes off of ourselves and focus on Him and sing to Him He truly changes us.
