Area 32 Opportunities

First of all thanks for checkin' us out! Maybe your thinking to yourself - self how can I get involved with what is going on at Area 32? Well let's take some time here to walk through the many opportunities for you to be a life changer. The following includes a brief job description of each opportunity...check it out! Small Group Leader a:life Mentor

Position:

Small Group Leader

Mission:

  • to challenge, encourage, and support students as they grow closer in relationship to Christ

Locations:

  • Lynden, Everson, or Kendall Campuses

Weekly Tasks:

  • build relationships with students
  • attend weekly meetings
  • prepare for group discussion through prayer and studying God's word and the weekly topic
  • support students families
  • pray daily over the students in your group
  • call and follow up with students who make commitments to Jesus

Hourly Commitment:

  • 2.5 hours on Tuesday's for middle school, Monday's or Wednesday's for High School depending on campus location.
  • 2 hours in calling, follow up, and just plain hanging out with students

Position:

a:life Mentor

Mission:

  • to effectively start students on the road to a new life in Christ through building healthy relationships, beginning a pathway of daily discipleship and applying practical biblical teaching.

Locations:

  • Lynden, Everson, or Kendall Campuses

Weekly Tasks:

  • It starts with a student making a first time commitment to Jesus Christ, and getting connected to a small group leader.
  • That leader would take the new believer to the a:life booth after our meeting time, where he/she would be introduced to one of our a:life mentors.
  • The a:life mentor would present the new believer with a bible and introduce that person to the a:life bible reading plan- 32 day devotional.
  • Then the a:life mentor would give that student our five part ten-minute video lessons on living a new life as a Christian, or direct them to it online at areathirtytwo.com.
  • Then that a:life mentor would partner with the leader and contact the new student three times in the first two weeks (we already require our small group leaders to follow up with new salvations two times in the first two weeks, see leadership manual page 27) to answer any questions the student might have as well as encourage the student in the discipleship process.
  • Oh and don't forget lots of prayer with and for the student

Hourly Commitment:

  • 2.5 hours on Tuesday's for middle school, Monday's or Wednesday's for High School depending on campus location.

Position:

Child Care

Mission:

  • to offer a safe warm environment for the children of our teen mom's

Locations:

  • Lynden Campus

Weekly Tasks:

  • Help teach children they are loved by God and how to love Him in return.
  • Provide love, acceptance and nurturing
  • Assist parents in their children's spiritual growth
  • Provide a safe place for children to have fun and make new friends
  • Safety and Security
  • Set up/take down
  • Caring for and playing with children while their parents get to grow in their relationship with the Lord

Hourly Commitment:

  • 2.5 hours on Monday nights for High School at the Lynden Campus.

Position:

Snack Bar

Mission:

  • to provide food and beverage for students on a weekly basis

Locations:

  • Lynden, Everson, or Kendall Campuses

Weekly Tasks:

  • serve food
  • count cash at the end of each evening
  • wipe down snack bar area
  • tell funny jokes (or just stand there and look awkward)

Hourly Commitment:

  • 2.5 hours Tuesday's for middle school, Monday's or Wednesday's for High School depending on campus location.

Position:

Security Personnel

Mission:

  • To provide a safe environment for both students and parents to have a great ministry experience

Locations:

  • Lynden Campus

Weekly Tasks:

  • patrol Area 32 at the Lynden Campus
  • be outside before and after weekly programs to facilitate crowd control
  • perform public floggings
  • build relationships with students

Hourly Commitment:

  • 2.5 hours on Tuesday's for middle school, Monday's for High School

Position:

Weekly Office Aid

Mission:

  • To aid Area 32 staff in creating a smooth, functional and efficient Area 32 experience for all students and leaders.

Locations:

  • Lynden Church Office

Weekly Tasks:

  • Create and Print Schedules
  • Purchase and Gather Supplies needed for weekly games and message props
  • Phone assistance (making needed phone calls)

Hourly Commitment:

  • 2 hours per week

Position:

Connection Center

Mission:

  • To create a space for students to come and gather all the information they would need about our ministry and opportunities for them, also to make sure that students are filling out info cards in order to keep them informed outside of the ministry.

Locations:

  • Lynden Campus

Weekly Tasks:

  • Man the booth before and after services
  • Greet and excite people as they enter the worship center
  • Hand out info to students on the way out

Hourly Commitment:

  • 2 hours per week
  • Monday's and/or Tuesday's at the Lynden Campus
  • (compatible with: perceiver, mercy, compassion, server) back to top

Position:

Sound Tech

Mission:

  • To provide quality sound in aid of the spreading of the gospel of Jesus (and make things loud)

Locations:

  • Lynden, Everson, or Kendall Campuses

Weekly Tasks:

  • Perform sound checks
  • Set up stage
  • Run sound during program

Hourly Commitment:

  • 3.5 hours on Tuesday's for middle school, Monday's or Wednesday's for High School
  • 2 hours other evening for band rehearsal
  • (compatible with: server, techie [yes we believe it's a spiritual gift]) back to top

Position:

Video/ Music Tech

Mission:

  • To provide quality video in aid of the spreading of the gospel of Jesus (and make things look way cool)

Locations:

  • Lynden Campus

Weekly Tasks:

  • Run video clips
  • Show music videos
  • Play transitional music between activities
  • Run video and song during program

Hourly Commitment:

  • 2.5 hours on Tuesday's for middle school, Monday's or Wednesday's for High School
