Why We Do What We Do
at Our Weekend Services
Philippians 2:2 NLT - "Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose."
1) Walk
We walk in expecting the Living Christ to meet powerfully with us as we gather in His name.
James 4:8 NLT - Come close to God, and God will come close to you.
Jesus said...
Matthew 18:20 NLT - For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.
2) Welcome
We welcome everyone with the genuine love of Christ and welcome Christ with praise, asking Him to touch our hearts as only He can.
Philippians 1:2 NLT - May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.
Psalm 100:4-5 NLT - Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.
Revelation 3:20 NLT - Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
3) Word
We open our hearts to hear what Christ is saying to us from His life-giving Word and we listen to hear His voice through the teaching of His Word.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT - All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
Psalm 119:105 NLT - Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
John 10:27 NLT - My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
4) Worship
We respond in loving adoration to Christ for who He is, what He has done and is doing and by giving ourselves and what He has entrusted to us back to Him as a living sacrifice.
Psalm 99:5 NLT - Exalt the Lord our God! Bow low before his feet, for he is holy!
Psalm 103:1-2 NLT - Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.
Romans 12:1 NLT - And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
5) Wonder
We experience the wonder of His life-giving presence and receive, through being prayed for, the grace we need to meet the challenges we face.
Psalm 16:11 NLT - You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
James 5:16 NLT - Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
6) Witness and Works
We walk out inspired to share the wonder of His love with others and excited about doing the good works we were created to do for His glory.
1 Peter 2:9 NLT - But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
Ephesians 2:10 NLT - For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
