Loving Groups
The "L" in our LIFE acrostic stands for Loving. Loving small groups are built around meaningful, transforming, supportive relationships with other brothers and sisters in Christ. It is where we get real with each other, challenge each other to live God-honoring lives and care for one another. It is also where we use our God-given gifts to help and to reach out to a hurting world.
At NCCTK being transformed into the likeness of Christ is central to our mission. This may start in the worship service but it gets worked out in small group as we seek to do the Word, not just hear it. That is why most of our Loving small groups use the sermon notes to take it deeper, studying the scriptures and their application to our lives. They encourage one another to read and pray daily.
At NCCTK we want everyone to be genuinely loved and cared for, so we have made our Loving Small Groups the primary means of pastoral care. It is the members of your group who will be there first when you get sent to the hospital, when you celebrate the birth of a child or marry off a daughter. They are there for you when you go through the loss of a job or the death of a loved one.
At NCCTK we are continually seeking to reach out to others with the Love of God. We encourage each group to find an outreach focus. Some of the things groups do: feed the hungry and homeless; reach out to migrants; partner with Young Life to help the youth; help New Way Ministry, who ministers to abused women and children; or volunteer with Rolling A Ranch, who also reaches out to the abused; support and encourage one of our missionaries; sponsor a child together etc. You get the idea! What each group does comes from the heart and passions of those in the group.
Well, that's our Loving Small Groups! Does it sound like a way to put your faith in ACTION?
